In January, the Digital Directorate of the United States Air Force Aerospace Management Systems announced EWR Radar Systems has been awarded a sole source contract for the Portable Doppler Radar (PDR) Program.  Under the contract, EWR will provide 22 E700 Portable Doppler Weather Radar Systems with an option for the Air Force to purchase up to 14 additional systems. This is an expansion of the current PDR program which currently fields 23 of EWR’s E700 systems. The Aerospace Management Systems Division, located at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, is the contracting office.

Production of the 22 E700 Portable Doppler Weather Radar Systems will take place in Kirkwood, Missouri and is scheduled to be completed by January of 2023.
