EWR Radar Systems Awarded Transportable Weather Radar Facilities Contract by NOAA

Kirkwood, MO USA

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States Department of Commerce, announced that EWR Radar Systems has been awarded a contract for the supply of three transportable weather radar systems. Under the contract, EWR will provide one C-band and two X-band E800LP Solid State Weather Radar Systems mounted on purpose built truck platforms.

The transportable weather radar systems will be used by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), and the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) in support of fire weather and post-wildfire hydrology research. Production of the three transportable doppler weather radar systems will take place in St. Louis, Missouri and are scheduled to be delivered by September 2025.
